3D Printing & Design
Precision is not a question of quantity.
Prototypes, functional parts, spare parts and small series, including CAD design. Whether a single piece or a run of 500: same tolerances, same care, manufactured in Switzerland.

Why Printerking
What sets me apart from a print-only service.
A part is not finished when it comes off the printer. It is finished when it works. Everything else follows from that.
You do not need a CAD file
A sketch, a photo or the broken original will do. Design work is part of the service here, not an extra line at the bottom of the invoice.
Checked before it is printed
Every file goes through a technical review: wall thicknesses, load direction, fits and tolerances. If a different material carries the load better, I say so before the quote.
One contact, one location
Manufactured in Switzerland, with no middlemen and nothing moved offshore. You speak to the person who ends up making your part.
How it works
Four steps from idea to part.
Send me what you have: a file, a sketch or a photo. It reaches me directly and without an account, and you get back a quote or a question.
Request
5 minutesUpload a file, a sketch or a photo. STL, STEP and 3MF as well as native CAD files from SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion or FreeCAD.
Review & quote
within 24 hI check manufacturability, propose material and orientation, and price the job.
Production
3–5 working daysPrinting, monitoring, post-processing and a visual check of every single part.
Delivery
1 working dayShipping anywhere in Switzerland, or collection by arrangement.
In a hurry? Express production within 48 hours on request.
Services
What I make for you.
From design through to a checked part: one point of contact for all of it.
3D printing
Functional parts by FDM, from a single piece to a production run, robust and load-bearing.
CAD design
A sketch, a photo or an idea becomes a manufacturable 3D model, even when no data exists yet.
Spare parts & reverse engineering
Part broken, manufacturer gone, drawing lost? I measure the original and reproduce it.
Small series
Repeatable production from a handful of pieces, where an injection mould will never pay off.

Who is behind this
You are talking to me, not to a portal.
I am Patrick Stratil, a computer scientist and the founder of Printerking. This is not a brokerage: the machines stand in Root in the canton of Lucerne, in my own workshop. Whoever calls here speaks to the person who later prints the part, finishes it and holds it in their hand before it ships.
Visits by arrangement. And if 3D printing is the wrong process for your part, I will tell you before you order.

Technology

The figures at a glance. Whether your part fits the build volume, you can see right here.

Several machines mean more than capacity: if one goes down, it lowers the risk of a deadline slipping. And a small series runs in parallel instead of one after another.
Courses & training
I teach what I use in the workshop every day.
Courses are part of the business here. Two very different audiences, the same standard.
Technical training
Three formats from CHF 490, at your site: your machine and its quirks, a close look at your parts, the slicer down to expert level. Not a CAD course: this is about the machine and the process.
Private customers, parents and children
1.5 hours, CHF 90: introduction, materials, a design of your own in Tinkercad, and the printed part goes home with you. No prior knowledge, gladly together with the children.
Teaching at
FabLab Zug
Ongoing, and before that around two years of public courses at Bibliothek Zug. For beginners of every age.
Next step
Two routes, depending on where you are.
You have a file
Upload it, describe your requirements, get a quote within 24 hours. STL, STEP and 3MF as well as native CAD files, photos and PDF.
You only have an idea
A sketch, a photo or the broken original will do. I will tell you whether and how it can be made, before any cost is incurred.
