The resin printer works with light rather than a nozzle, which is why no value is given there.

Several machines mean more than capacity: if one goes down, it lowers the risk of a deadline slipping. And a small series runs in parallel instead of one after another.

Reverse engineering

I measure more precisely than I manufacture.

The broken original is scanned and turned into a clean CAD model. This is what makes producing a spare part without an existing drawing possible at all.

The best scanning accuracy is 0.03 mm, below the manufacturing tolerance of ±0.2 mm over 100 mm of edge length. The reference is therefore usually not the limiting factor.

Production methods

Two things a single printer cannot do.

  • Unattended series production

An automatic plate changer works through 10 build plates in sequence, overnight and over the weekend, with nobody standing next to it. For small series this shortens lead times considerably, because no working day is lost between two parts.

  • Engraving down to bare metal

Two laser heads on one machine: 20 W for wood, acrylic and leather, 2 W infrared (1064 nm) for bare metal, where a diode laser is not enough. Type plates, scales and serial numbers end up on the part itself instead of on a sticker that peels off within a year. Engraving area 268 × 358 mm, focal spot down to 0.03 mm.

What matters is which machine suits the part.

That is why every job starts with the question of what the part has to withstand, and not with which machine happens to be free.
