Meshes such as STL, OBJ and 3MF, neutral CAD formats such as STEP and IGES, and the native files from SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion and FreeCAD all go straight through. You do not have to export anything before you write to me. And if you have no file at all, a sketch, a dimensioned photo or the broken original will do: I take care of the design.

Usually within 24 hours on working days. If something needs clarifying I get in touch first, you never wait without hearing from me.

Normally 3–5 working days from approval. If it is urgent, express production within 48 hours is available on request.

It depends on the material: with PLA and PETG the choice is wide, with technical plastics it is narrower. Tell me in your enquiry what you have in mind and I will name the options in the quote. A particular colour can usually be sourced, but it may mean a few days of waiting.

My focus is Switzerland; shipping to Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein is available on request. Collection by arrangement is also possible.

Yes. You first get a written quote listing material, quantity, lead time and price. Production starts once you approve it, the part ships with a delivery note, and the invoice usually follows after delivery; on a first order a deposit may apply, which is stated in the quote. A repeat order runs off the same file.

As a guide ±0.2 mm over 100 mm of edge length; proportionally more on longer parts. For fits that need to be tighter, I discuss design and post-processing with you up front.

Your files are used solely to carry out your order. They are not passed on and not published. I will sign a non-disclosure agreement on request.

Depending on the format CHF 490, 890 or 1490, and that is for the whole course, not per person. The travel flat rate by distance comes on top, and larger groups carry a surcharge. No VAT applies; the figure quoted is the figure invoiced.

Two, four or around seven hours. The half day is booked most often: two hours are usually too tight for your own failure patterns, and a full day only pays off once several parts, print profiles or materials come together.

Yes, the course takes place at your machine and with your parts. Lucerne, Zug, Zurich and Aargau are within easy reach, and I am glad to come further afield. The travel flat rate follows the distance from Root LU.

Up to five people are included in the price, larger groups carry a surcharge by headcount. From about ten I recommend two dates rather than one: on a single machine nobody gets their hands on it otherwise.

Yes, that is one of my most common cases. The original is scanned to an accuracy of 0.03 mm and a CAD model derived from it. On request I fix the spot where the part originally failed at the same time.

No. I produce from 1 piece, and a single part gets the same care as a series. At larger quantities the price per part drops, because preparation is incurred only once.

We work that out together. Describe where the part sits and what it has to take, and whether it gets warm or stands outdoors. Whether PLA, PETG or ASA is the right choice is part of the advice, not something you work out in advance.

CHF 90 for the beginner course, CHF 150 for the session by arrangement, both 1.5 hours. Material and a drink are included, and no VAT applies. For families the price is per adult; what that works out at in each case is set out as a table on the course page.

Usually at my workshop in Root LU, a good twenty minutes from Lucerne, on the machines I work with. There is parking on the estate. On request I come to your home instead; the travel flat rate then applies, based on distance, the same one as for the business training. The rates are on the course page.

Yes. From about age six, children usually manage well on their own, and younger is fine when someone sits alongside and joins in. Modelling is done in Tinkercad, which small hands handle well too. There is no upper limit: the oldest person to take a course with me was 93.

No, neither. Tinkercad runs free of charge in the browser, there is nothing to install, and the account stays yours. A laptop with an external mouse is more comfortable than a tablet; if you have no device, I provide one.
